When you open a page that has Japanese or chinese caracters Windows usually ask you automaticaly (pop up window)if you want to install those caracters on your system. To do so, you need the CD-ROM of Windows. Just follow the instructions, everything is supposed to be done automatically.

You can also download the japanese plug ins for internet explorer, just go to windows update and select the plkug ins for the selkected languages you want to install.
