On the topic "Commentaires sur les présentations", we had the pleasure to greet a new, English-speaking member : steffe. In a post on this topic, I mentionned
Petite Fleur a écrit Maybe we could create an English-speaking subject for English-speaking members? Effectively, many Yoko albums have been translated to English : so we could expect some English-speaking fans to join us! I would like the advice of the moderator on this topic.
Just for joke (no offense meant here!), we could call it from the once very popular song by Tony Benett "Welcome Strangers in Paradise".

As we all know, Yoko Tsuno is being translated in English since few months... And i am not surprised, new readers wanna know a little bit more about our dear Yoko..
To my mind, an English section should be created, welcoming potential native and non native English speakers to this forum.
about translating the website, I think cherry made a good point.... important and valuable informations should be translated.
I believe sections like albums, Roger Leloup, downloads and contacts should be first to be taken care of.
Petite fleur, I don t think cherry meant to translate all threads in English, of course, this would take years to accomplish that task.

I begin to realize that french is very difficult. I can not manage all those exceptions....my husband say that i have to persevere and that i want to learn to many things in the same time.
I thought that i was catching a lot with my dictionary an my french yoko. In fact i'm nowhere. The syntax is crazy for me.
At page 24 of the #20. the little girl doesn't understand Mieke. But the both of them are speaking french. I don't underdstand it.
Last night i read my yoko book ...again. I'm totally addicted of it.
And i imagine what Mieke felt when she saw paul for the first time with this
scarry flash light.
I noticed also that the devil question is really present in the story.
It frighted me at the begining.

Would you beleive that I knew? Most "petites fleurs" have no thorns that hurt, but many have pointy leaves that tickle...

I think that they would actually speak modern japanese that, of course, Mieke could not understand. However, all they say is written in French so the reader can follow. Most readers would have a few problems if all texts were in the original language, don't you think?

It's wonderfull ! Mais ne pourrais t-on pas traduire en Français pour ceux (comme moi) qui ne parlent pas courrament anglais ? Et pour les enfants qui sont nombreux sur le site ?

In fact, as explained by Yoko, Rosée (that's the name of the little girl) can only speak chinese or english. I agree with your interpretation that conversations are written in french for a better understanding whatever the original speaking, but I don't think they speak japanese but chinese (or english ?) : don't forget Yoko is a bit chinese by her family !

En fait, comme l'explique Yoko, Rosée (c'est le nom de la petite fille) ne peut parler que chinois et anglais. Je suis d'accord avec le fait que les dialogues sont écrits en français quelle que soit leur langue réelle, en revanche je ne pense pas qu'ils parlent japonais mais chinois (ou anglais?) : n'oublions pas que Yoko est d'ascendance chinoise !
De la même façon, on peut remarquer que ce genre de traduction française des dialogues originaux est pratiqué chaque fois qu'une langue étrangère est parlée : le vinéen, le japonais dans "La spirale du temps", la langue de Bali dans "Le matin du monde", même le russe (si je me souviens bien) dans "Le 7ème code", etc...

I suggest that this topic remain in english. As Petite Fleur said, it is a lot of job to translate everything and, unfortunatly, I, personnaly, don't have enough time to do so.
Eventually, we will have here an english section, probably sooner than you think. But, for now, let's start with something simple.

Well... don't look up in a dictionnary to understand that steffe : it is simply not French, it is "Frenglish". Cehel2 was asking if we could translate the posts in French for those who, like he, are not fluent in English. And I answered him with full of mistakes to imitate phoneticaly the strong accent of a true British (cockney, King's English) who would try to speak French (and fail). More or less like if a Parisian would greet you in the following terms :
a real true "titi de Paris" a écrit Aille ouiche you ze most harty ouelcome on hour forum, steffe. Fell you well free tou expresse you in anglishe in this here topic. It have bean created juste four that. Hand aille am veridicaly blissefoule that you saide you art appy : "Woaw. I feel so good. Je suis heureux(se)."
Of course, if a French-speaking person would try to find these in a dictionnary, he might have a few problems translating everything... 1

You have to do this before writting your answer : just click on the "citer" link on the post you want to quote. Another way to do so : when your answer, click on the "citation" link to write on your text the marks "[ quote ] and [ /quote ]" ; just copy your quote between those two. If you want to indicate the name of the author ("citation de XXX"), write the first mark like this : [ quote=XXX ] :

I am pleased Steff, to tell you that we have now a brand new section in the forum for the english speaker. If you go on the forum index, you'll see that you can enter in a section called "About Yoko Tsuno (english section". Have fun. I hope other english speaker will soon join us.
I leave this subject open for now, but I might lock it soon and/or move it to the new section.
Ben Pearl, il y a beaucoup de membres qui se sont amusés à écrire de l'anglais déformé, si je puis dire, à un moment ou un autre en utilisant des sons écrits francophones. D'habitude, les gens en rient simplement.
Les patrons avaient déjà comme projet à long terme de traduire le site en anglais. Ouvrir une section anglophone au forum est donc bienvenue. Vous verrez donc qu'il y a maintenant une section anglophone au forum. Les sujets qui s'y trouveront risquent de recouper ceux qui sont déjà dans le forum Yoko en français, c'est simplement parce que chacune des sections s'adresse en principe à des gens différents. Merci de votre compréhension.
